Basically, I’ve gone back to what I know and prefer, which is sticking to my WordPress site and regular blogging content. I tried out Wix for an author website, bought the premium plan and domain name, but found the layout unsatisfactory, the site would often glitch or throw me out while trying to update the site. So, I cancelled the plan and decided I preferred WordPress as a format for my author presence. I may upgrade my WordPress to a paid plan, eventually, but for now, I’m sticking to the free plan due to budget constraints.
I’ve been working on my long running novel, Wolfborn and plan on publishing in 2020. Those who regularly follow me on social media will know I’ve been suffering with chronic pain and fatigue due to my health issues and spine problems, which has slowed me down considerably. Medication hasn’t helped that issue, either. So, I’ve been cutting down unnecessary tablets that don’t do anything but cause more problems. It’s a personal choice and one that is working for me. On a side note, I’ve also been suffering with chronic sinusitis and that has stopped me wearing my glasses due to pain. Now, I’m on a steroid nasal spray, which is helping ease the symptoms, hence the push towards getting back into the swing of things, now I can actually see what I’m doing.
As for the writing situation, I’m several chapters into Wolfborn and so far it’s going well. I’m planning on doing some blogs detailing more about the book, characters and background, including the magical constructs and history of this fictional world.
I’ve let a lot of my blogging and media presence lag over the past year or two and plan on getting back on track. I’ve got a lot of work to do in order to finish this novel by beginning of 2020. There’s an updated cover to organise, editing the final manuscript, and advertising the actual book once finished. It’s a lot, but nothing I haven’t done before. So, I’m confident it’s a manageable goal.
I’ve also been sorting my newish outside office, which we purchased from a friend as they no longer needed it. There’s still work to do, but there’s a second hand corner desk in there, which I’ve re-covered. There’s insulation, but the boarding out still needs to be done and a daybed for when I can’t sit in my office chair. The hope has always been that it will help me be more productive and fingers crossed that’s still the case.
The plan is so show a few sections of Wolfborn, so folks can get a feel for the story. Do a few Q&A sections on here and also provide more information about the book.
Hopefully, this has set a few things straight and provided some useful information.
See ya soon!
