Hey there!! Apologies for the lack of regular posting, but it’s been quite hectic here!! More than usual, actually. A couple of weeks ago we went out to visit friends and got a text from our eldest son, who basically sent an SOS as the kitchen sink had ‘burst’. When my husband rushed back, he found a miniature lake in our house, ruining most of the downstairs, including laminate flooring, carpets and furniture. We did our best, with friend’s help, but couldn’t save everything. This meant we had to claim on our insurance for the first time ever! Luckily, it was quite a painless process and we’re currently in the middle of redecorating and fixing the damage. If we didn’t have all the support of family and friends, I don’t know what we’d have done. (probably flailed about in a panic)
Anyhow, things are slowly getting back on track. I’ve got back onto my novel, Oath of God and been typing away on the final draft. There’s still a lot of work to do, but it’s getting there. I’ve realised over time, I let the writing become a chore, rather than an enjoyable experience creating new worlds, characters and stories out of my own imagination. I’ve been writing for a while now, but it’s only in the last few years that I have taken it more seriously. Again, with encouragement from close family and friends. I’ve started down the self-publishing route and while it’s been hard at times, it’s also taught me a lot about myself as a person and a writer. I’ve begun to gather a readership and it’s been very gratifying to read the reviews and comments on my work, including Vastian Lore, my first novella. I’m progressing as an author, and beginning to relax a little and enjoy the new role I have now as an official creative-type person. 😀
I’m looking forward to discovering what will happen along the way and how I will grow and change as a writer. What new worlds I will explore. What new characters will come to life. The stories I will write and publish along the way. It’s an exciting prospect.
